Clean-Up Georgia Project (Phase III) Information about Tree Planting Campaigns Implemented in Kaspi and Kareli Municipalities
n the frames of Clean-Up Georgia Project (Phase III), Georgian Society of Nature Explorers Orchis has purchased 65 saplings of Turkish Pine, 25 saplings of European Spruce, 95 saplings of Lime, 5 saplings of Common Hackberry, 68 saplings of Field Maple from Mtsvane Samkaro LTD and National Nursery LEPL, and planted them in Kaspi and Kareli Municipalities on 11-12th of April, 2018. Specifically, these saplings were planted at the old entrance of Kaspi City, in the squares named after Giorgi Mazniashvili and Qecharukhi, a public school of Tvaladi Village, kindergartens of Varjaani Settlement, Doesi Village, Metekhi Village and Kvemo Gomi Village, Kaspi Municipality, as well as in the Kareli Park. Participants of these campaigns were representatives of City Halls of the target municipalities and teachers of schools and kindergartens.
Clean Up Georgia Project (Phase III) is being implemented by a consortium of NGOs – Georgian Society of Nature Explorers Orchis, Greens Movement of Georgia/Friends of the Earth – Georgia and Raising of Ecological Awareness and Waste Management, through the financial support of the Government of Sweden.
