On 2nd July 2021, the Seminar on Circular Economy will be held in Tbilisi
On 2nd July 2021, the Seminar on Circular Economy will be held in Tbilisi with the members of the Georgian National Academy of Science to familiarise them with the circular economy concept and approaches, and to discuss with them potential and challenges for the adoption of the circularity in Georgia.
This seminar is organized by Georgian Society of Nature Explorers “Orchis”, under the patronage of the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture of Georgia and Government of Sweden, to address interest sparked among the members of the National Academy of Science by the four circular economy conferences held during 2019-2021 by GSNE “Orchis” in the frames of Sweden supported Keep Georgia Tidy Project.
The seminar has been designed and will be conducted by Acad. Solomon Pavliashvili, Deputy Minister of Environment Protection and Agriculture and an International Expert in the Circular Economy Dr. Dariusz Prasek – Doctor in Environmental Engineering, International Expert in Environmental, Social and Governance Areas, former Director of Operations in Environmental and Sustainability Department of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, member of the United Nations Advisory Board on Circular Economy, and Independent Expert on Development Financing at IDB Invest.
The seminar has been initiated by the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture and GSNE “Orchis” with the purpose to scale up awareness raising on the circular economy to facilitate to transition to the circularity and achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. It could be realized thanks to the personal engagement and good will of Dr. Dariusz Prasek, International Expert in the Circular Economy and Acad. Solomon Pavliashvili, Deputy Minister of Environment Protection and Agriculture in the frames of the Circular Economy Mapping programme supported by the Government of Sweden.
